Team Members:
· This team has limited capacity of 15 people from the USA.
· Team members under the age of 18 require a parent
or legal guardian to accompany them.
All medical professionals welcome and needed including: Medical Doctors, Nurse Practitioners, Physicians Assistants, Pharmacists, Dentists, Registered Nurses, Physical Therapists and Counselors. Nonmedical people are needed to provide support to our medical team and work in the eyeglasses area.
Each team member will be required to have the following:
· Passport is required
· Visa - purchased for $10 US cash when you go through Immigration in the Managua airport.
· Immunizations
o Hepatitus A and Hepatitus B and a current tetanus are recommended.
o Due to the remote destination, Malaria prophylaxes is
recommended.
o Other immunizations can be verified on the CDC website.
o Decisions regarding immunizations are personal and you are responsible for your choices.
· Medical Evacuation Coverage
We strongly suggest you have health insurance coverage that provides coverage in Nicaragua.
o Evacuation Coverage is required.

Trip Costs :
Trip Price is: $1,250.00 US Dollars plus Airfare.
· A non-refundable deposit of $300.00 is required.
· If paying by check, make all checks payable to the nonprofit,

Travel:
Typically flights are booked on United Airlines through a group contract. If you have airline miles or points you may make your own arrangements using your miles or points.
Travel within Nicaragua is by van, bus and dug out canoe with a motor on back.
Hotel Accommodations:
In Managua we will stay at the Las Mercedes - it is a Best Western hotel and located directly across the street from the airport.
In Wiwili you will be in a very basic hotel. No hot water.
On the river in San Andreas you will be inside a building and in a bed - I use the term bed loosely. No running water.
In Jinotega you will staying at the Mision Para Cristo facility and will have a comfortable bed and should have hot water.
Meals:
Meals will be provided. There is lots of rice and beans. You will want to bring lots of snacks.
