Second year medical students from TTUHSC will stay until June 22nd
Team Members:
· Must be at least 12 years of age.
· If under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent
or an adult who has legal responsibility for the minor.
All medical professionals welcome and needed including: Medical Doctors, Nurse Practitioners, Physicians Assistants, Pharmacists, Dentists, Registered Nurses, Physical Therapists and Counselors. Nonmedical people are needed to provide support to our medical team and work in the eyeglasses area.
Each team member will be required to have the following:
· Passport
· Visa - purchased for $10 US cash when you go through Immigration in the Managua airport.
· Immunizations
o Hepatitus A and Hepatitus B and a current tetanus are recommended.
o Other immunizations can be verified on the CDC website.
o Decisions regarding immunizations are personal and you are responsible for your choices.
· Medical Evacuation Coverage
We strongly suggest you have health insurance coverage that provides coverage in Nicaragua.
o Evacuation Coverage is required.

Trip Costs :
Trip Price is: $1,100.00 US Dollars plus Airfare.
· A non-refundable deposit of $300.00 is required by March 1, 2013.
· If paying by check, make all checks payable to the nonprofit, 501c3: Olive Branch Ministries International

Travel:
Typically flights are booked on United Airlines through a group contract. If you have airline miles or points you may make your own arrangements using your miles or points.
Note to Texas Tech Students: Please check with Dr. Patti Patterson before making any flight arrangements on an airline other than United.
Hotel Accommodations :
In Managua we will stay at the Las Mercedes - it is a Best Western hotel and located directly across the street from the airport.
In Jinotega we will be staying at the Mision Para Cristo facility. We will have comfortable beds and should have hot water. Most of us will be staying in rooms with multiple twin beds. There are private rooms for married couples.
We will base out of Jinotega and travel to and from the clinic locations each day.
Meals:
Breakfast and dinner will be provided at the Mision Para Cristo facility - dinner is always very good. You will make a sandwich each morning for lunch. Bring snacks. Bottled water is provided.
